Robert Phillips is Martha’s Vineyard Glassworks’ first assistant. His work is both functional and sculptural and combines hot-glass techniques with extraordinary cold-working skills. Phillips’ aesthetic has evolved through his exploration of transparency and reflection by working with Scandinavian crystal for over a decade.

“Vag” by Robert Phillips

“Vag” was made in 2011 out of Scandinavian lead-free crystal. Chosen for its mirror-like reflections, the crystal illuminates the piece as well as Phillips’ exceptional cold working skills.
